Combined intumescent and smoke seals are used to help restrict the spread of fire and smoke by sealing gaps around a fire door.
Damaged, missing or incorrect seals are one of the most common issues identified during Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs).
This combined seal is typically used where both fire resistance and smoke control are required.
When it is typically required
- seals are damaged, worn or missing
- smoke control is part of the door’s intended function
- incorrect seal types have been fitted
- remedial works are required following inspection
What it does
- expands under heat to help seal gaps (intumescent function)
- helps restrict smoke movement in normal conditions (smoke seal)
Important
Seal type, size and installation method should align with the fire door design and any available certification or specification.
This product should not be used as a generic substitute where the correct seal type is unknown.
Typical use
- remedial works following FRA findings
- replacement of damaged seals
- reinstating missing seal sections
Application note
Designed for installation into existing rebates in the door leaf or frame.
