Fire Door Threshold Seal (Drop-Down, Surface-Mounted)

Surface-mounted drop-down threshold seals are used to reduce smoke and draughts passing through gaps at the bottom of fire doors.

They provide a practical retrofit solution where the threshold gap is excessive or where smoke control is required, without the need for rebating or major door alterations.

When the door closes, a plunger mechanism activates the seal, lowering a rubber gasket to close the gap beneath the door and help maintain compartmentation.

Typically required when

• the bottom gap is considered excessive during inspection
• smoke control is required as part of the door’s function
• remedial works are needed following a Fire Risk Assessment (FRA)
• upgrading existing fire doors without rebating is preferred
